Is there no way of flagging this spam on Snapshot? https://snapshot.org/#/poh.eth/proposal/QmT5vZKty5mhoxwVxTtvUeucvUKomVqfdYb8FVST8mN43s
Unfortunately the functionality to remove individual polls has been removed. The only possible thing is now to whitelist creator addresses.
What about a limit on duration? - we are gonna be looking at that spam poll for 6 years! If there was a limited duration (1-2 months?) and a blacklist possibility I think that would be good enough for now.
Are there any relevant folks from the Snapshot community we can reach out? Seems like they need to improve their UI, since their growth will only lead to more spammy events like this.
Snapshot is OSS. Out of the scope here but a fork could incorporate some interesting human based mechanics (such as needing n number of votes before the poll is on the public list, closer integration with other tools in our governance process, rate limiting how many polls can be created or the age of the account that is allowed, etc).
I’d be game if we do a fork of Snapshot that meets our needs.
This might be solved by Witnet’s bot, which will be added to the Discord server soon. It allows people with PoH addresses and custom permissions to make proposals following the guidelines of the DAO. And put these proposals to vote in both off-chain and on-chain, only by other PoH linked discord handles.
